Goals:

Compete against community teams while building relationships with teammates and continuing to develop the fundamentals and skills necessary to make the Freshman baseball team.

Roster Selection Process:

Travel tryouts typically take place in late June/early July each year. Tryout dates are determined considering: the availability of facilities, outside evaluators, High School, other coaching staff; to minimize conflicts with other sporting events to the best of our ability; and the goal of completing all Travel tryouts prior to the end of the current season. Players are evaluated in various skills including hitting, fielding, catching and pitching. Players are scored and assigned to rosters based on skill level.

Off Season Training:

2 training sessions per week at indoor training facility

Mitch McConnellHead Coach
Mitchell McConnell begins his third summer coaching UABA. Mitchell graduated from Upper Arlington High School in 2022, playing four years of high school ball, leading the team as captain his senior year. Currently Mitchell is finishing his sophomore year at Hope College in Holland, Michigan. He is studying Accounting with a minor in Ministry, while being involved in multiple extracurricular activities. Mitchell has twin brothers, Max and Reid who both are involved in baseball and wrestling as freshmen. Alongside coaching, Mitchell is employed as a Project Manager Intern at Industry Insights in Dublin, Ohio.

Skylar TrentAssistant Coach
Skylar Trent enters his first season coaching UABA. After coaching a 13U team over the fall, Skylar is joining the UABA coaching staff. Skylar is a 2022 graduate of Upper Arlington High School, where he grew up playing UABA and ultimately played for the Upper Arlington Varsity Baseball Team. Skylar is currently enrolled in his sophomore year at The Ohio State University and is studying Biomedical Engineering. Skylar plans on attending Medical School after graduating to continue his academic journey. Skylar currently lives on campus at The Ohio State University.
